Accounting Technician Diploma
Highlights
Develop the skills to become an accounting para-professional working alongside professional accountants in industry and public practice. Your diploma credits count towards completion of the Bachelor of Business Administration.
Exit Certificate after first year: Business Foundations Certificate
Careers
Graduates find employment with public accounting firms working on files and basic tax returns; as payroll, accounts receivable, accounts payable, or general accounting clerks in larger organizations; or as bookkeepers with smaller businesses.
Admission Requirements
- Grade 12 (or equivalent) or mature student status
- Foundations of Mathematics 12 or Pre-calculus 12 with a minimum C+ (or equivalent)
- English Studies 12/English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent)
Students may commence their studies while they upgrade their English and Mathematics.
If you don’t meet the requirements
High school graduates can apply and be admitted to this program while upgrading at TRU.
Mature students without a high school diploma (or equivalent) can work towards completing their BC High School Graduation Diploma while in this program through TRU courses.
Students who do not qualify for mature student status can apply for the TRU University Preparation program to complete their BC High School Graduation Diploma.
