Youth Train in Trades
Get a head start on your technical trades training
Youth Train in Trades is an industry training program for high school students that enables you to take courses for credit towards both high school graduation and completion of an apprenticeship or industry training program. Tuition for these programs is funded by your school district, so you’ll just need to cover the costs for ancillary fees, books, personal protective equipment and tools.
Students who complete these programs, which are made possible by partnerships between school districts and TRU, typically have very good success in finding employment and developing useful life-long skills.
Youth Train in Trade programs are available to students in School Districts with agreements. Check with you Trades and Transitions Coordinator.
